DSC’s research illuminates the fantastic work of the UK’s armed forces charities. Whether mapping service provision for mental health, education and employment or housing support, our research has time, and time again evidenced the vital contribution charities make to the daily lives of the UK’s armed forces community.
Recognising the armed forces community
The Soldiering On Awards was also established to celebrate champions of the armed forces community. Its purpose is to recognise truly inspirational individuals and teams supporting the armed forces community; and highlight outstanding achievements of current and former Service personnel. DSC’s Chief Executive and Vice President of the Soldiering On Awards Debra Allcock Tyler reflects on their value:
“Our nation relies heavily on those who support our Armed Forces, the veterans and their families and taking the time to value and treasure what they do is so important. I am honoured to be part of that. Do send us your nominations so that we may recognise these very special people.”
